Bougie Bae trying to look cool (hehe)
Most of my days are spent solely with the opposite sex and navigating my way through an industry full of men. Very rarely do I get asked style questions from them, except maybe the occasional, “Will this work?” Much to me chagrin, my husband, Mick (the Bougie Bae- I see him cringing now), asked me to help tackle his new office. This is what I walked into:
I know, it’s a whole lot of brown and no frills at all. If you know Mick, he didn’t want to spend much at all (none, really), so I went in search of items that would be masculine and modern and not break the bank. So I went to my favorite place to find affordable pieces that would fit the bill: At Home.
The first major thing to tackle was a piece of art behind his desk. We saw this train piece, and I knew it would be perfect. He is in logistics, after all. This on is sold out in stores near me, but sometimes the online selection is not nearly as good as their actual storefronts.

The rug was also crucial. It needed to not be fussy, but have great texture. This one is great because it’s manly enough for him and also just enough design to be interesting.

He already had two leather chairs, but he needed a lamp (the LEDs overhead will make anyone have a headache) and a small table to tie it together. This table was 30 dollars. The end. Buy it if you need it. The lamp was also super reasonable and gave off some great light for the area. Neyland Stadium in the background was of course his idea, but I can’t win them all.
What sort of masculine and modern elements do you like to incorporate into a space? I tend to lean more towards leather pieces, what about you?
